Welcoming New Students to Thammasat: Orientation Week, Semester 2/2023.

Day 1: Kick off with Campus Tours

     On 3 January 2024, The Office of International Affairs led incoming international students to visits of notable places around the Tha-Prachan and Rangsit campuses. At Tha Prachan, students were introduced to the Thammasat Library, Pridi Plaza, the canteen, Health Center and gym. At Rangsit, the OIA led students to the “Green Canteen”, the Sports Center, TU Hospital, dormitories and Puey Ungphakorn Centenary Hall.  The tours wrapped up with a visit to the TU Book Stores on both campuses for Thammasat uniform shopping to get them ready for student life and activities.

Day 2: International Orientation Session

     On 4 January 2024, nearly 100 participants – incoming students from various countries around the world – gathered for Thammasat International Orientation Day for semester 2/2023 on the Tha Prachan campus. The morning session started with opening remarks from the Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, Dr. Siripatra Patchanee, to encourage students to embrace their new environment during their time at Thammasat.

     Following that, a special session on “Guidance for new TU friends: Do’s and Don’t’s in Thailand – All you should know about Thailand” was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk from the Thammasat Design School.  Next, a presentation entitled “Take care of yourself & find help when you need it” was given by Dr. Timo Tapani Ojanen of the Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education. The morning session concluded with “Visa & Immigration Regulations” presented by Police Inspector Lt. Col. Purichaya Wattanasantipong from the Thai Immigration Bureau.

     The afternoon session featured a talk by Lecturer Wiraphorn Hongwiangchan from the Faculty of Liberal Arts on Thai culture and an introduction to basic Thai language.

Day 3: The Emerald Buddha Temple and Grand Palace Tour

     On 5 January 2024, International students were treated to cultural tours of the Emerald Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace as an introduction to the history of Thai architecture. During the tour, they were given the chance to learn about mural painting and stucco arts, presented by an official expert guide from the Thai Royal Palace. The historical and cultural tours were organized by the OIA.

ปฐมนิเทศนักศึกษาต่างชาติ ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2566 

     วันที่ 3 มกราคม 2567 กองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ จัดกิจกรรม Campus Tour นำนักศึกษาต่างชาติเยี่ยมชมสถานที่สำคัญ ๆ ณ ท่าพระจันทร์ และศูนย์รังสิต โดยในการเยี่ยมชมธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ นักศึกษาได้ชมสถานที่สำคัญต่าง ๆ เช่น ห้องสมุดปรีดี พนมยงค์ ลานปรีดี โรงอาหาร ศูนย์อนามัย รวมถึงโรงยิม ในส่วนการเยี่ยมชมสถานที่ต่าง ๆ รอบธรรมศาสตร์ รังสิต อาทิ International lounge หอสมุด โรงอาหาร ศูนย์อนามัย ศูนย์กีฬา โรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์ หอพัก และมุมพักผ่อน เป็นต้น เพื่อการทำความคุ้นเคยกับสถานที่และสามารถใช้ประโยชน์ได้ในระหว่างเรียน นอกจากนี้ นักศึกษาทั้งสองศูนย์ได้เลือกซื้อชุดนักศึกษา ณ ศูนย์หนังสือธรรมศาสตร์ เพื่อใช้ในการเรียนหรือกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ อีกด้วย

     วันที่ 4 มกราคม 2567 นักศึกษาต่างชาติจากหลากหลายประเทศ เข้าร่วมงานวันปฐมนิเทศนักศึกษาใหม่สำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2566 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์

     ช่วงเช้ากล่าวเปิดงานและต้อนรับนักศึกษา โดย อาจารย์ ทพญ.สิริภัทรา พัชนี ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ เพื่อสร้างเสริมกำลังใจให้นักศึกษาต่างชาติระหว่างเรียน ณ ธรรมศาสตร์ หลังจากนั้นรับฟังการบรรยายพิเศษ หัวข้อ “Guidance for new TU friends”, “do and don’t do in Thailand”, All you should know about Thailand” โดย รศ.ดร.สุปรีดี ฤทธิรงค์ จากคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์และการผังเมือง (อดีตผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศฯ) และรับฟังการบรรยายหัวข้อ “Take care of yourself & Find Help when you need it” โดย Dr. Timo Tapani Ojanen คณะวิทยาการเรียนรู้และศึกษาศาสตร์ ปิดท้ายช่วงเช้าด้วยการบรรยาย หัวข้อ on “Visa & Immigration Regulations Talk” โดย พ.ต.ท.หญิง ภูริชญา วัฒนสันติพงศ์ กองบังคับการตรวจคนเข้าเมือง 1

     ในช่วงบ่ายเรียนรู้ความเป็นไทย ด้วยการเรียนภาษาไทยเบื้องต้น สอดแทรกเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมไทย เพื่อปรับใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันระหว่างการเรียนที่ประเทศไทย บรรยายโดย อาจารย์วิราพร หงษ์เวียงจันทร์ คณะศิลปศาสตร์

     ในวันที่ 5 มกราคม 2567 กองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ นำนักศึกษาต่างชาติเข้าเยี่ยมชมและศึกษาเรียนรู้ศิลปวัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทย ณ วัดพระแก้วและพระบรมมหาราชวัง โดยนักศึกษาได้รับทราบข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับประวัติความเป็นมาเกี่ยวกับสถาปัตยกรรมไทยภายในวัดพระแก้ว รวมถึงการให้ข้อมูลเกร็ดความรู้ประวัติศาสตร์เชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับประวัติความเป็นมาของสถานที่ จุดสำคัญต่าง ๆ และลวดลายไทยจิตรกรรมฝาผนังและปูนปั้น ซึ่งได้รับความอนุเคราะห์การบรรยายจากมัคคุเทศก์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากสำนักพระราชวัง

TU and Yang-En University explore link-ups.

     Prof. Wei Yangqing, Executive Vice President, and administrators from Yang-En University in China paid a visit to Thammasat-Tha Prachan on 21 December 2023. The delegates were welcomed by the Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, Dr. Siripatra Patchanee, and the OIA Coordinator for Asia.

     After greetings from the Assistant to the Rector, the Yang-En executives presented an overview of the university, its programs and facilities. They expressed a keen interest in pursuing collaboration with Thammasat at the graduate level and heartily endorsed the Thammasat International Student Recruitment (TISR) program that will open in early 2024.

     The Thammasat side promoted TU’s Summer Program 2024 from July to August 2024 that will feature courses in Business Opportunities in Thailand, Innovation & Entrepreneurial Mindset, Basic Thai Language, as well as company visits and cultural trips.

The Yang-En delegates cordially invited Thammasat to visit Yang-En University in March 2024.

ธรรมศาสตร์ และ Yang-En หารือความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ 

     Prof. Wei Yangqing รองอธิการบดี และผู้บริหารจาก Yang-En University ประเทศจีน เยือนมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ท่าพระจันทร์ ในวันที่ 21 ธันวาคม 2566 ให้การต้อนรับโดย อาจารย์ ทพญ.สิริภัทรา พัชนี ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่กองวิเทศสัมพันธ์

     ฝ่าย Yang-En ได้นำเสนอข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับมหาวิทยาลัย หลักสูตร และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกสำหรับนักศึกษา เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ ยังได้หารือความเป็นไปได้ในการทำความร่วมมือร่วมกันระหว่างสองมหาวิทยาลัย โดยเฉพาะความร่วมมือในระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา รวมถึงการแนวทางการสมัครเรียนที่ธรรมศาสตร์ โดยผ่านโครงการ Thammasat International Students Recruitment (TISR) ซึ่งมีกำหนดเปิดรับสมัครในต้นปี 2567

     ฝ่ายธรรมศาสตร์ ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโครงการระยะสั้น summer program 2024 ที่ถูกจัดขึ้นในช่วงระหว่างเดือนกรกฎาคม และเดือนสิงหาคม 2567 ซึ่งเนื้อหาวิชาที่สอนในโครงการประกอบด้วย Business opportunities in Thailand, Innovation & Entrepreneurial Mindset การเรียนภาษาไทยเบื้องต้น รวมถึงการเยือนศึกษาดูงานบริษัทที่มีการประกอบธุรกิจที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกับเนื้อหาวิชา รวมถึงการทัศนศึกษาเชิงวัฒนธรรมร่วมด้วย

     ก่อนการสิ้นสุดการเยือน ผู้บริหาร Yang-En ได้เชิญธรรมศาสตร์ เยือนมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศจีน ในเดือนมีนาคม 2567 นี้

Thammasat and Saga University explore expanded link-ups.

     On 18 December 2023, Prof. Nobuo Mishima, the Vice President (International) and executives from Saga University in Japan, were welcomed to Thammasat-Tha Prachan by the Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, Dr. Siripatra Patchanee, together with the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Urban Mobility Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, and the OIA Coordinator for Asia.

     After welcoming remarks by the Assistant to the Rector, the Saga representatives introduced the "SPACE-SAGA" program and encouraged Thammasat to publicize the information to TU students who are interested in studying in Japan.

     To strengthen the partnership, Saga suggested expanding academic collaboration via new programs, such as Strategic Partnership Projects and publishing joint research papers.

     ผู้แทนจาก Saga นำเสนอข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโครงการ SPACE-SAGA พร้อมขอความอนุเคราะห์จากธรรมศาสตร์ เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์สำหรับนักศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์ที่มีความสนใจไปศึกษา ณ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เพื่อเสริมสร้างความความร่วมมือในฐานะคู่สัญญา ฝ่าย Saga ใช้โอกาสนี้ในการหารือโอกาสการขยายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ ด้วยโครงการใหม่ฯ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Strategic Partnership Projects รวมถึงการเผยแพร่เอกสารงานวิจัยร่วมกันอีกด้วย
