1.โครงการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนการมีส่วนร่วมขององค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นเพื่อเสริมสร้าง
ขีดความสามารถด้านการท่องเที่ยว, 2551

โครงการนี้เป็นโครงการเพื่อพัฒนาขีดความสามารถขององค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นในด้านการบริหารจัดการการท่องเที่ยว ซึ่งเป็นโครงการของสำนักงานพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยว กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา ดำเนินการโดยศูนย์เพื่อการวางแผนการท่องเที่ยวและการแก้ไขปัญหาความยากจนแห่งเอเชีย (ACTPPR) กิจกรรมของโครงการ คือ การจัดฝึกอบรม 2 วัน ในหัวข้อเกี่ยวกับการวางแผนยุทธศาสตร์การท่องเที่ยวในระดับท้องถิ่น และการยกระดับการบริหารจัดการการท่องเที่ยว โดยแบ่งจัด 3 ครั้ง ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร, จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี และจังหวัดลำปาง จำนวนผู้เข้าร่วมทั้งหมด 200 คน จากจังหวัดต่าง ๆ ทั่วประเทศ

1.Capacity Building Project on “Tourism Destination Management at the Local Level” for Local Government in Thailand, 2008

Funded by the Office of Tourism Development, Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, the Center carried out this project in 2008. This two-day training is designed to provide knowledge and understanding on tourism destination management at the local level for local government in Thailand. The course contents include introduction to tourism at the local level, strategic tourism planning process, techniques/ application for enhancing visitor experiences. This training was organized for 3 times in Bangkok, Ubon Ratchathani and Lampang province. Total number of participants was about 200 from 30 different provinces.

2.โครงการท่องเที่ยวชุมชนอย่างยั่งยืน ระยะที่ 1, 2551

โครงการท่องเที่ยวชุมชนอย่างยั่งยืน ระยะที่ 1 สนับสนุนโดยองค์การบริหารการพัฒนาพื้นที่พิเศษ เพื่อการท่องเที่ยวอย่างยั่งยืน (อพท.) มีจุดมุ่งหมายในการเพิ่มศักยภาพของชุมชนในด้านการวางแผน การบริหาร จัดการการท่องเที่ยวชุมชนให้เกิดความยั่งยืน และตรงกับความต้องการของชุมชน ซึ่งชุมชนเป้าหมายของโครงการมี 3 ชุมชน คือ ชุมชนบ้านวอแก้ว จังหวัดลำปาง ชุมชนบ้านท่าล้ง จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ชุมชนบ้านบางโรง จังหวัดภูเก็ต กิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ในโครงการประกอบด้วย การจัดเวทีประชาคม การจัดการฝึกอบรม การจัดสัมมนาระหว่างชุมชนและหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง และการสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานกิจกรรมของชุมชนในด้านการท่องเที่ยว โครงการมีระยะเวลา 8 เดือน โดยดำเนินการเสร็จสิ้นในเดือนมีนาคม 2552

2.Capacity Building Program on “Community-based Tourism Phase 1”, 2008

The project funded by the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) is designed to provide knowledge that meets the need of communities. Pilot projects will be carried out in 3 communities located in 3 different regions – North, Northeast and South. It aims to create the same understanding about the concept of community-based tourism that is responsible for social, culture, economic and environmental aspects of local community. Project duration was for 8 months from August 2008-March 2009

3.การจัดฝึกอบรมในหัวข้อ“Strategic Management and Planning of Tourism Destinations: Creating a Positive Visitor Experience While Meeting the Needs of the Community” ในระหว่างวันที่ 16-20 มิถุนายน 2551

ศูนย์เพื่อการวางแผนการท่องเที่ยวและการแก้ไขปัญหาความยากจนแห่งเอเชีย (ACTPPR), คณะการจัดการอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยว มหาวิทยาลัยฮาวาย ร่วมกับสถาบันเทคโนโลยีแห่งเอเชีย (AIT) และสมาคมส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิค (PATA) จัดการฝึกอบรม 5 วัน ในหัวข้อ “Strategic Management and Planning of Tourism Destinations” ระหว่างวันที่ 16-20 มิถุนายน 2551 ที่ AIT Conference Center โดยหลักสูตรนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อสร้างความรู้ ความเข้าใจต่อผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องถึงแนวทางการบริหารจัดการแหล่งท่องเที่ยวให้เต็มศักยภาพ ในขณะที่สามารถพัฒนาให้เกิดความสมดุลระหว่างวัตถุประสงค์ด้านเศรษฐกิจ สังคม วัฒนธรรม สิ่งแวดล้อม ผู้เข้ารับการอบรมเป็นบุคลากรจากสถาบันการศึกษา ผู้บริหารระดับกลางจากหน่วยงานที่มีหน้าที่รับผิดชอบด้านการท่องเที่ยวจากทิเบต ลาว พม่า ศรีลังกา ไทย และเวียดนาม

3.Regional Training on “Strategic Management and Planning of Tourism Destinations: Creating a Positive Visitor Experience While Meeting the Needs of the Community”, 16-20 June 2008

The School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii, the ACTPPR Center in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) organized a five-day course on “Strategic Management and Planning of Tourism Destinations” during 16-20 June 2008 at the AIT Conference Center, Pathumthani, Thailand. The course is designed to help destinations to achieve their full potential while meeting a range of economic, environmental and social objectives. Participants are mid-level management staff of public tourism organizations, tourism planners, tourism site managers, lecturers and instructors of academic institutions, and researchers/consultants from Tibet-China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
