| The English Department, Thammasat University | ||||||
| The second oldest university in Thailand, Thammasat was founded in 1934. It is one of Thailand’s leading institutions of higher learning with an enrollment of over 20,000 students. The university takes pride in its long tradition of being at the forefront of higher education and in combining academic excellence with cultural, political and social awareness and innovative thinking. Since its founding almost 4 decades ago, the Department of English has long been recognized as one of the leading English departments in Thailand. With a full-time faculty numbering over forty, the Department offers a wide range of courses in English skills, linguistics, literature and culture necessary for students’ thorough understanding of the English language both at undergraduate and graduate levels. Graduates of the Thammasat Department of English have frequently distinguished themselves in various sectors both in Thailand and internationally. | ||||||
| Instructors in the English Department enjoy state-of-the-art classroom facilities and small class sizes, generally ranging from 15-25 students. The basic teaching load is light, leaving plenty of additional time for lesson preparation, becoming involved in other department activities and teaching optional additional courses of interest. Entrance to the English Department is extremely competitive, so students are intelligent, receptive, and being Thai, generally friendly and fun. Many foreign teachers have come to join the department and stayed for the rest of their careers. Our department is continually evolving and expanding. Why not consider joining our team? | ||||||
