Procedures of 2009 admissions (as of December 2008)





  
1 Application forms

Available for sale (Bt. 300 non-refundable): at Bookstores of Thammasat University or Chulalongkorn University


2 Application forms submission (during office hours)
Applicants must submit their application form and other relevant documents at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammsat University (Prachan Campus). Those unable to submit these by themselves may request another person to process the application on their behalf, in which case an authorization letter and the authorized person's national ID card are also required


3 Application fee payment
Applicants must pay a non-refundable fee of Bt. 600 payable to: "มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ " (Thammasat University), savings account no. 026-1-52083-0, Krungthai Bank, Thatian Branch.


4 Documents required for application

4.1 A completed application form with three 1 ?" photographs:

4.2 A copy of secondary school certificate (or its equivalent) or a copy of documents as stated in section 3.2.1 (a certified true copy must also be produced);

4.3 A copy of national ID card or passport (for non-Thai citizens only) (a certified true copy must also be produced);

4.4 A copy of exam results as stated in BAS entry requirements(a certified true copy must also be produced);

4.5 A proof of fee transfer;

4.6 For applications by proxy, an authorization letter with a certified copy of the authorized person's national ID card must be produced;

4.7 Applicants from Thai schools (public or private) who have not completed their M.6 (มัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6) must show evidence that they are a registered student and they are expected to graduate by July 2009.

4.8 Applicants working towards an Equivalent Secondary School Qualification (การศึกษานอกโรงเรียน) must show proof that they are following the last semester of the curriculum. The BAS Programme does not accept applicants who will not officially graduate by July 2009.

4.9 Applicants from international schools in Thailand must show evidence that they are studying in Grade 12 or its equivalent, or that they expect to graduate at that level prior to Registration (July 2009).

4.10 Applicants from schools abroad must show evidence that they are studying in Grade 12 or its equivalent, or that they expect to graduate at that level prior to Registration (July 2009). All overseas qualifications must be submitted to, accredited and approved by the Thai Ministry of Education. Accreditation by the Ministry must be made available to the BAS programme no later than the first day of the 1/2009 semester. Applicants will forfeit their right of entry should these criteria not be met.

4.11 Applicants with international qualifications (GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, IB etc.) must be in possession of appropriate certificates, or must show evidence that they have taken these qualifying examinations prior to the Application Submission Day. These qualifications must be submitted to, accredited and approved by the Thai Ministry of Education. Accreditation by the Ministry must be made available to the BAS programme no later than the first day of the 1/2009 semester. Applicants will forfeit their right of entry should the results fail to qualify for accreditation.


N.B. Regardless of the outcome of application, the BAS Programme WILL NOT return the paid application fee.


5 The examination

The written examination

5.1 A written examination ID card will be issued on the Application Submission Day.

5.2 Applicants will forfeit their right of taking the BAS written examination should they fail to bring their ID card and their applicant ID card on the Written Examination Day and/or the Interview Day.

5.3 Do not write anything on the written examination ID card.

5.4 In the case of an ID card being damaged or lost, the applicant should contact the BAS examination centre for a new card before the BAS examination begins.

Interview Examination

All applicants must attend an interview session. They will also have to present their national ID card and applicant ID card before entering the examination room.

6 Condition of Application
Should applicants fail to fulfill any of the BAS application requirements, they will forfeit their right of entry into the Programme. The application fee is non-refundable in all circumstances.

N.B. Applicants who cheat in the examination will:
1) forfeit their right of entry into the BAS Programme in 2009;
2) forfeit their right of entry into any course of study offered by Thammasat University for three consecutive years;
3) for applicants who are registered students, The BAS programme will report them to their school or university where they will be subject to disciplinary actions;
4) under certain circumstances, applicants who are found cheating on the written examination may be subject to legal prosecution.

7 Notice of acceptance for written examination and test venue
Details of the test venue and a list of those who qualify for the examination will be made available:

8. Announcement of interview results
Results will be posted on a notice board at the 1st Floor, Faculty of Liberal Arts building, Thammasat University (Prachan Campus) and on the internet at http://www.tu.ac.th/org/arts/bas.


9. Admission to the BAS Programme
Successful candidates must report to the BAS Office on Admission Day as specified by the programme (12 May 2008). They will forfeit their right of entry should they fail to do so on that day.

11. Physical Check-up
New BAS students have to complete and submit Registration documents along with a medical certificate from a certified doctor or hospital.

12. Conditions of Enrollment and Registration

12.1 To register as BAS students, all registration documents must be completed and a new student fee paid (non-refundable). Failure to do so by the date specified by the BAS Programme will result in the student having their student status forfeited.

12.2 Registered BAS students are those who have undergone the examination process administered by the Programme.

12.3 Registered BAS students will forfeit their right of entry should they also have a student status in another school or university.

12.4 Registered BAS students will forfeit their right of being a BAS students should they fail to qualify for the entrance requirements.
